For our
English readers we like to introduce our great event in the town Pori in Finland.
Health
promotion is important. When you avoid diseases and mental health problems you
strongly improve life quality. Life time expectancy increases and social and
health costs gets reduced – both a lot.
One part of
health promotion is to walk in the nature. MOTION or MEDICATION. That’s the question. Research shows that in many cases you may do your
pick – but MOTION js much more effective than MEDICATION.
The 85 000 people
town Pori is located at a river delta with many isolated islands. One of them,
the Polsanluoto island, is located half a mile from the town hall and the town
centre. Polsanluoto is nearly untouched and wild. You get there by a bridge or
by a cable ferry. In the island there a footpaths and duckboards for pleasant walking.
We
encourage everybody walk in the nature. If you happen to be in the town centre,
take break and go to Polsanluoto. After the walk you feel good, really good.
On Saturday
June 17, 2017, we have a big Event, called the Day of the Nature, a part of the
Finland 100 Year Jubilee. The Event takes place in Polsanluoto. There will be many
activity points, such as sport, canoeing, archery and firefighting. There will
be music, you can experience a moment as disabled, information on the
surrounding nature plus many other things. Finally there will be singsong and
the Polsanluto island will be officially declared the FEEL GOOD PARK of Pori.
If you are
in Pori on June 17, 2017 please join the E
vent. Its starts at 12. The singsong
